Maureen Kelley is a professional dancer, singer and actress. Most recently she appeared in Houston Grand Opera's production of West Side Story as Minnie the Jet Girl. She also had the opportunity this holiday season to return to her dream show, Ogunquit Playhouse's production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the historic Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH.
Maureen has appeared in many productions across the country, including the first post-Broadway production of Rock of Ages at the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport, Long Island and has played the featured roles “Ruth” in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at The Fireside Theatre and “Judy Turner” in A Chorus Line at The Heights Players. She has performed Randy Skinner's Broadway Revival choreography of 42nd Street, set by original Assistant Choreographer Kelli Barclay, at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. Her ensemble credits also include The Producers, Wonderful Town, Jerry's Girls, Promises, Promises and Mack and Mabel.
Maureen was thrilled to perform for a crowd of 3,000 fans at the first ever BroadwayCon in the opening number directed by David Alpert and choreographed by Marc Kimmelman. She also performed with The Honey Taps, a professional song and dance group paying homage to the effervescent chorus girls of eras gone by. Maureen is a proud alumna of the University of Michigan, where she received extensive training in modern dance performance and earned a B.F.A. with Highest Honors. While attending U of M, Maureen was awarded the Suzanne H. Butch merit scholarship, performed the Martha Graham classic Primitive Mysteries, performed several dances by contemporary choreographer Leyya Tawil (Dance Elixer, San Francisco) and presented her own choreographic works. Her classical dance training also includes summer study with The Graham School in NYC, The American Dance Festival in Durham, NC and American Ballet Theatre in Detroit, MI.
